ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Daniel Horton scored a season-high 19 points to leadfour Michigan Wolverines in double figures in a 70-66 win over UCLA onSaturday.
The Wolverines (8-1) made just enough free throws and stops in the finalminutes to hold on after leading by 11 late in the game.
Dijon Thompson led the Bruins (4-3) with 21 points. Thompson made three ofhis five 3-pointers in the final minutes, but UCLA couldn't get closer thanthree. Trevor Ariza scored 15 points and T.J. Cummings added 12 for the Bruins.
Michigan's Bernard Robinson scored 17 points. Courtney Sims tied aseason-high with 12 and blocked Cedric Bozeman's shot in the final minute whenthe Bruins trailed by just four.
Graham Brown scored a season-high 10 and made back-to-back baskets that gaveMichigan a 67-60 lead with 1:47 left.
Following Brown's consecutive baskets, Thompson's 3-pointer made it 67-63with 1:30 left. His fifth 3-pointer pulled UCLA within three with 7.6 secondsleft.
Michigan got off to a great start, but quickly found out its fourth straightwin would not come easy.
The Wolverines led 8-0 after two minutes, then trailed 12-8 after giving upfive dunks and a jumper.
Horton made 3-pointers at the end of the first half and one to start thesecond to give the Wolverines a 39-28 lead. But the Bruins pulled within threepoints twice midway through the second half.
Michigan went on a 12-4 run to take a 61-50 lead. Thompson made two straight3-pointers and Cummings scored to cut UCLA's deficit to 63-60 with 2:39 left.
