TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Sun Devil Sports Network has announced plans for 35 Arizona State baseball games to be broadcast live locally on KDUS 1060 AM throughout the 2004 season. ASU also announced plans for six games to be televised live locally on AZ-TV. A majority of the games in 2004, including all home games, will also feature the live statistical GameTracker on ASU's official website, www.TheSunDevils.com.

'We are extremely excited about having KDUS and AZ-TV give our baseball program some local and national media coverage,' said Lee Rosenthal, General Manager of The Sun Devil Sports Network. 'The Deuce brings an exceptionally strong signal to The Valley and it continues the great working relationship we shared when they covered the NCAA tournament games.'

The nationally ranked Sun Devils open the 2004 season with a three-game series against perennial national power Florida State (Feb. 6-8), with all three games to be broadcast on 'The Deuce.' Longtime Arizona Diamondbacks public address announcer Jeff Munn will team with ASU Athletics historian Bob Eger for the first team games between the Devils and Seminoles. Valley sports personality Trey Bender will join Eger in the broadcast booth for the series finale (1 p.m.) on Sunday. Eger, the author of 'Maroon and Gold, A History of Sun Devil Athletics,' will be the mainstay of the broadcast group, with Bender and Munn filling in with play-by-play duties when conflicts with men's basketball surfaces. Tim Healey, the voice of Sun Devil Athletics, will be back for his fifth season in the Packard Stadium press box.

The 35-game radio schedule will cover a majority of the 24-game Pac-10 schedule, with non-conference games against FSU, Oklahoma, UConn, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, New Mexico State and Wichita State mixed in. All NCAA Tournament games will also be covered in the event that ASU receives its fifth straight postseason berth.

For the third straight year, ASU will team with AZ-TV for a tentative six-game schedule. AZ-TV (Cox Channel 13) will cover games against Arizona (Feb. 24), California (Mar. 19), Washington (Mar. 26), USC (Apr. 2), Arizona (Apr. 12) and Oregon State (May 15). George Allen and Doug Gerlach will handle all the play-by-play duties for the televised game. The Sun Devils will also appear at least once in 2004 on Fox Sports Net as part of the Pac-10 Game of the Week package.

The statistical GameTracker will provide a live play-by-play feed through the internet at www.TheSunDevils.com. All home games and most road games will feature the live updates. Please check ASU's website for updated media coverage.
