Junior Kaitlin Sandeno won three events, matching freshman teammate Kalyn Keller's three wins, but it wasn't enough as No. 3 Stanford defeated USC's No. 8 women's swimming and diving team, 178-132, on Saturday at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium.
Sandeno swam a 56.09 in the 100m free, just off her own record of 56.05 set earlier in the year. She also won the 50m free (26.09) and the 100m back (1:03.14).
Keller, who set two school records against Cal on Friday, won the 1500m free (16:28.36), 400m free (4:14.38) and the 400m IM (4:46.05) against the Cardinal on Saturday. Keller barely edged junior teammate Margie Pedder in the mile as Pedder touched in 16:28.67.
Junior Joanna Fargus won the 200m back in 2:14.11 and was second in the 200m free (2:02.32).
Tara Kirk led 1-2-3 sweeps in both the 100m breast (1:08.61) and the 200m breast (2:30.88) while Lacy Boutwell won the 200m free in 2:01.45.
Cardinal Dana Kirk edged USC senior Jana Krohn in the 200m fly, touching in 2:11.36, just ahead of Krohn's 2:11.65. Dana Kirk also beat Krohn in the 100m fly.
Stanford's Cassidy Krug also led 1-2-3 sweeps on both springboard events.
