Women's Tennis Shutout By No. 1 Stanford 7-0

March 5, 2004

Tempe, AZ- Friday afternoon at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe proved to be a tough one for the women of Arizona State.

The Devils came into the match 3-3 off of a recent 5-2 loss to the University of Arizona, knowing that today's match was to be a tough one against No. 1 seeded Stanford, who currently hold a perfect 12-0 record.

The day's match began with a rough round of doubles for the Sun Devils, with Cindy Sureephong and Joslynn Burkett hanging tough against Amber Liu and Alice Barnes, but ultimately falling 8-5.

The Devils fall to 3-4 on the season, and hope to have a strong match against No. 9 Cal Saturday afternoon at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center.
