Cardinal Continue Action At The Pacific Coast Doubles Championship

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Two Stanford University men's tennis teams took the court today at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, CA.
In main draw action, the tandem of sophomore James Pade and freshman James Wan battled the No. 4 seeded team of Jon Endrikat and Brian Morton of UC Irvine, but fell 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 in the round of 16. The loss was the first on the year for the Pade and Wan as a doubles team.
In the consolation bracket, the team of junior Sam Warburg and sophomore All-American KC Corkery advanced to the semifinals collecting two wins on the day. In the fourth round of the consolation bracket, Corkery and Warburg defeated Tony Haerle and Vuc Rajevac of Rice, 6-3, 6-3. In the quarterfinals, Corkery and Warburg eased past John Nallon and Alex Strom of Texas A&M, 6-3, 6-0.
The Cardinal will wrap up play at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship with Corkery and Warburg taking the court tomorrow in the semifinals at 9:00 am in search of the consolation championship.
