Oregon Senior Jackson Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - OREGON forward Luke Jackson has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for March 2-7, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Jackson, a senior from Creswell, Ore., led the Ducks to a home sweep of the Los Angeles schools to close out the regular season. He scored 20 points, 18 in the second half, in leading the Ducks from a 12-point deficit to a 75-70 win over USC. He also collected 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. In the 60-59 win over UCLA, Jackson scored 21 points, including a pair of game-winning free throws with 13 seconds remaining. In his final regular season game at McArthur Court, Jackson led the Ducks to a victory as he scored 10 of Oregon's last 12 points against the Bruins. He also added eight rebounds and three steals in the win.
For the week, he averaged 20.5 points on 14-of-32 (.438) shooting. He was 6-of-15 (.400) from three-point territory and was 7-of-8 (.875) from the free throw line. Jackson also grabbed an average of 10.5 rebounds a game and dished out 2.5 assists per game.
The Ducks earned the fifth seed in the Pacific Life Pac-10 Men's Basketball Tournament and will face California in the first round on Thursday.
This is the second weekly honor for Jackson, and the 24th all-time Player of the Week for the Ducks.
