Mendiola Named To Pac-10 All-Tournament Team

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - Washington senior Giuliana Mendiola was selected to the Pac-10 All-Tournament team, the conference announced Monday evening. Mendiola led the Huskies to the semifinals and set a two-game tournament record averaging 26.5 points. She also averaged 10.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists.

The Husky senior was joined on the Pac-10 All-Tournament team by UCLA's Nikki Blue, Arizona's Aimee Grzyb, Arizona's Shawntinice Polk, Stanford's Kelley Suminski and MVP Nicole Powell, also of Stanford.

In Washington's 67-50 win over USC in the quarterfinals March 6, Mendiola scored a game-high 29 points to go along with 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Her 12 boards tied a career-high. Mendiola followed that performance with 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 77-55 losing effort against the Arizona Wildcats in the semifinals, March 7.
