Two Huskies Qualify For Women's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

SEATTLE - Washington swimmers Desiree Johnson and Sharon Olson have qualified to compete at the 2004 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships to be held in College Station, Texas, March 18-20.

Johnson, a junior, is seeded 28th in the 100 backstroke after setting the school record with a time of 55.06 at the Pac-10 Championships.

Olson, sophomore qualified in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley races. She will also swim in the 1650 freestyle after swimming a provisional qualifying time in the event earlier this season.

Olson is seeded 32nd in the 200 IM (2:01.42), 33rd in the 200 freestyle (1:48.34) and 37th in the 1500 freestyle (16:37.04). She holds school records in the 200 freestyle and 200 IM events and ranks second on the Husky all-time charts in the 1650 freestyle.
