Bruins Finish Third at Pac-10 Championships

The third-ranked UCLA men's golf team finished third in the 45th Pacific-10 Conference Championships at The Gallery at Dove Mountain North Course in Tucson, AZ.
The Bruins posted a team score of 383 in the final round, 23-over par, and finished with a 72-hole total of 1,470, 30-over par. They finished 15 shots behind second place Arizona State and 20 shots behind first place Arizona. Washington finished fourth at 1,476 and USC placed fifth at 1,479.
Individually, senior Travis Johnson tied for fifth place at two-under par 286, and Steve Conway tied for ninth at 290, two-over par. Junior John Poucher tied for 14th at 296 and defending champion John Merrick tied for 21st at 300. Senior Roy Moon tied for 33rd at 304 and freshman Peter Campbell tied for 46th at 310.
Arizona freshman Henry Liaw fired a final round 68 and won individual medalist honors with a 72-hole score of 279, nine-under par.
