Diamond Dawgs Move Up In Polls

SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team (26-14-1 overall, 10-5 Pac-10) earned the No. 21 spot inthe Baseball America rankings, released today. The Huskies also jumped from No. 21 toNo. 16 in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll.
The Huskies, second place in the Pac-10 standings, will play host to No. 1 Stanford (35-6overall, 10-2 Pac-10) this weekend at Husky Ballpark. The Cardinal, who sweptWashington State last weekend in Palo Alto, moved into the No. 1 spot in both rankingstoday after having spent the last few weeks at No. 2.
The Cardinal currently sit atop the Pac-10 standings, a game and a half in front ofWashington. The Huskies are two games ahead of third-place UCLA and three in front offour teams tied for fourth. The Stanford-UW series is the only conference series thisweekend as many teams have the weekend off for finals and UCLA and Arizona areplaying one another in a non-league series.
Friday night's game begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, game time is 1:00 p.m. Allthree games will air live on KKNW AM-1150 and Saturday's contest will be televised liveby Fox Sports Northwest.
