Mayorkas Leads USA to Victory over Japan

Two-time All-American Charlotte Mayorkas led the United States to victory in the USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship Friday at the Taiheiyou Club Ichihara Course in Ichihara, Japan.
Mayorkas, voted co-MVP of the event along with Japan's Miki Saiki, led the U.S. team to a 32-28 victory by firing a final round 67 to Saiki's 73 in singles competition.
On the men's side Michael Putnam was named MVP as the U.S. men won five singles matches and halved a sixth on the final day of competition.
UCLA's O.D. Vincent and Carrie Forsyth served as coaches for the United States' teams, which won their ninth straight match against Japan, and increased their overall lead in the series to 22-7.
In other golf news, UCLA graduate Bridget Dwyer lost on the 21st hole to Blythe Worley of Free Union, VA in the third round of the 74th Women's National Trans Amateur Championship at Glenmoore Country Club in Keswick, VA.
