Oregon State Football Player Dies in Automobile Accident

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University student-athlete Justin Williams died Friday night (July 23) as a result of an automobile accident on Interstate-5 near Wilsonville, Ore. Williams, a redshirt-freshman cornerback on the team, was 19.
'Our thoughts and prayers go out to Justin's family,' Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. 'This is a sad time for the entire Oregon State athletic family.'
Williams arrived on the OSU campus in summer of the 2003 and redshirted last season. The Los Banos, Calif., native was expected to be a contributor this season at cornerback. He was majoring in business management.
Williams is survived by his stepfather Bob Moore, mother Jackie Williams, one brother Jason, and one sister Jenae.
'This is a true tragedy and we mourn with Justin's family,' Beaver head coach Mike Riley said. 'I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child. This is a great loss to the OSU family. Justin was loved by his teammates, coaches and the OSU community as a whole.'
