Cal Sends Two to NACAC Championships

Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada - The blue and gold came home with silver at the end of the North America, Central America & Carribean Under-23 Championships. The competition is open to the best two athletes from each country in each event, under the age of 23. Cal heptathlete Brooke Meredith and high jumper Teak Wilburn represented the United States at the international event, both winning silver medals.Meredith, an indoor and outdoor All-American, finished second with a score of 5,048 in the heptathlon. Wilburn, another All-American, also won silver with a jump of 2.15m in the men's high jump. Wilburn missed the gold medal off of misses, as the first place finisher also jumped 2.15m.For more information on the NACAC U-23 Championships, visit www.nacac2004.ca.
