Henderson, Roseby, Cosby Pace Bruins at NACAC 23-and-Under T & F Championships

Junior Monique Henderson, senior Sani Roseby and junior Jessica Cosby paced the UCLA women this weekend (July 30-Aug. 1) at the 2004 NACAC (North American, Central American, Caribbean) Under-23 Track & Field Championships held at Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Henderson, who will be in the U. S. women's relay pool at the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, placed third (51.67) in the 400m and anchored the U. S. winning 4 X 400m relay (3:29.10).Roseby placed third (13.27) in the 100m hurdles and ran the third leg on the U. S. 4 X100m relay that finished second (43.63).In field events, junior Jessica Cosby, who placed second in the hammer throw at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor, again placed second (209-0) and inthe pole vault, sophomore Chelsea Johnson, the 2004 NCAA Outdoor champion and the NCAA Outdoor record-holder (15-0), no-heighted.More than 400 athletes from 28 countries competed at the Universite de Sherbrooke Athletics Stadium. The NACAC Athletic Association's Under-23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
