Olson in Fourth Place at Pacific Coast Amateur

Eugene, OR - Washington sophomore men's golfer Erik Olson is in fourth place after shooting 2-under 69 during the first round of play at the 38th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship. This year's 72-hole, stroke play event is being contested at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. The tournament concludes Friday.New Mexico golfer Spencer Levin and Australian amateur Adam Porker both shot 5-under 66s to share the first-round lead. Michael Putman of Pepperdine is third at 67. Just nine golfers bettered par over the venerable Eugene CC layout.Last week Olson advanced out of stroke play to the match play competition at the Western Amateur. He was defeated in the first round of match play.Husky junior James Lepp is tied for ninth at the Pacific Coast Amateur after shooting even-par 71. Washington sophomore Alex Prugh carded a 72 Tuesday.
