Cardinal Men Compete At ConocoPhillips National Championships

Stanford, Calif. - Several Cardinal men' s swimmers are currently competing at the ConocoPhillips National Championships at Stanford University's Avery Aquatics Center. Yesterday's finals included the 100m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and the 200m butterfly.Stanford sophomore Andy Grant finished seventh in the 100m free, clocking in at 51.21 while teammate Kyle Ransom took eighth in the finals with a time of 51.81. Garrett Weber-Gale won the event (49.91).Cardinal Thomas Brown placed 17th overall in the 200m breast which was won by France's Julien Nicolardot.Junior swimmer Mark Stephens then took eighth in the 200m fly, touching the wall in 2:04.10.Today's events at the Avery Aquatic Center include the 200m freestyle, 400m IM and the 400m freestyle relay.
