Trojan Golfers Shine At Recent Tournaments

USC sophomore Jordan Nasser was medalist at the local qualifying site for the 2004 U.S. Amateur recently. He shot a 139 at Friendly Hills Country Club. He then qualified for match play at Winged Foot and won his first match over Patrick Carter 1 up, before falling in round two to Nick Cook, 1 up.Nasser will be a red-shirt sophomore for us this fall after transferring from Pepperdine. Another USC alum, Terrance Miskell, also made it to match play at the Amateur.Former USC golfer Kemp Richardson, meanwhile, maintained the United States' recent domination of the Seniors Open Amateur Championship, winning by two strokes from a high class field at The Berkshire. A closing round of 70 for 213, two under par, saw Richardson complete his second victory in four years and the seventh by an American in the past nine.
