USC Forges 2-2 Tie In Scrimmage With No. 22 Pepperdine

LOS ANGELES -- USC sophomore Tracy Lansing's goal at 72:57 tied the game Saturday as the Women of Troy and No. 22 Pepperdine Waves played to a 2-2 tie in a scrimmage at McAlister Field. Both teams played three 30-minute periods.Pepperdine scored the first two goals of the match. Jennifer Brewer scored at 10:39 from 17 yards out on the left side, rifling a shot into the right side of the net past USC goalie Julie Peterson. Lindsey Redlin scored at 58:58 off a feed from teammate Kelsey Quane.USC got on the scoreboard when Tina Sutorius buried a shot off a Pepperdine defender in front at 65:56 for a 2-1 Pepperdine lead. Lansing scored on a header in front off a cross from the left side by junior defender Jocelyn Leche.The Women of Troy will open the 2004 season next weekend at the Nike Seminole Classic in Tallahassee, Fla. USC plays Rhode Island on Friday (Aug. 27) at 4:30 p.m. Eastern and host No. 5 Florida State on Sunday (Aug. 29) at 1 p.m. Sunday's game will be broadcast live on www.seminoles.com, along with LiveStats.
