USC Sophomore Allyson Felix Wins Olympic Silver Medal In 200-Meter Dash

USC sophomore Allyson Felix of the United States won a silver medal in the 200-meter dash today (Aug. 25) at the 2004 Athens Olympics.The 18-year-old clocked a world junior record time of 22.18 in finishing second behind winner Veronica Campbell of Jamaica (22.05).Felix had signed a letter of intent with USC before turning professional. She currently attends classes at USC, but cannot compete collegiately.Her brother, Wes, is a USC senior who is a 2-time Pac-10 200-meter champion.With this medal, a total of 14 medals have been won by a current, former or future Trojan in the 2004 Games. Athletes who attended USC before, during or after their Olympic appearance now have collected 109 golds, 64 silvers and 58 bronzes.
