FOUR PAC-10 TEAMS RANKED AMONG NATION'S TOP-25 THIS WEEKComing off a strong showing in the Husky Invitational last week, WASHINGTON (2-0-0) makes its debut in the national polls this week, receiving a No. 15-ranking from Soccer America... The Huskies knocked off No. 9 Penn State and No. 18 Ohio State last week, and continue their streak against ranked opponents by hosting No. 8 Tennessee Friday night... Defending Pac-10 Champion UCLA (2-0-0) moves up one spot this week to No. 9... The Bruins, who received four goals from FR F Danesha Adams last week, host UC Santa Barbara on Sunday... STANFORD (1-0-0) improves one spot to No. 13... The Cardinal receive an early test, taking on No. 2 Notre Dame Friday in South Bend, Ind.... ARIZONA STATE (1-1-0) slides up three spots to No. 20 and remains on the road at BYU on Saturday... PAC-10 WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES...ARIZONA, off to its first 2-0 start when opening on the road since 1997, returns home this week to host the Arizona Invitational... JR MF Mallory Miller tallied four points on the weekend, with a goal and two assists in Arizona's 2-0 win over Drake on Aug. 28. In ARIZONA STATE's 4-0 shutout of Rhode Island on Aug. 29, four different Sun Devils recorded goals... SR GK Kelly Fitzgerald earned the shutout, the 11th of her career, with five saves. CALIFORNIA F Stephanie Wieger, one of five freshmen in the Golden Bears' starting unit in the Aug. 27 opener, notched two goals last weekend... Wieger added an insurance goal in the 3-0 shutout of Creighton, and scored the Bears' first goal in the 4-2 loss to top-ranked North Carolina... Cal hosts the 10th annual Cal Invitational this week. Five of OREGON's starters in the 1-1 tie against San Diego State were freshmen -- Jen Cameron, Emily Danner, Kami Kapaku, Lisa Tedford and Dylann Tharp... The Ducks hit the road this week to play Weber State and Utah, a 2003 NCAA tournament participant. FR F Jodie Taylor led OREGON STATE with two goals in the Beavers' victories over San Diego State and UC Santa Barbara last week... The Beavers host the OSU Nike Invitational Tournament this week. STANFORD SR MF/F Marcie Ward, who missed the 2003 campaign due to injury, paced the Cardinal with two goals in the 3-0 season-opening shutout of No. 24 Utah... Stanford takes to the road for the next three weeks, beginning with the Notre Dame Tournament Friday and Sunday... UCLA FR F Danesha Adams has scored four goals in just two collegiate contests, notching two goals apiece in the Bruins' wins over San Diego and Loyola Marymount last week... The defending Pac-10 Champions host UC Santa Barbara on Sunday. The 2003 Pac-10 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year, USC's Rosa Anna Tantillo, notched three points in the season's opening weekend... Tantillo accounted for the Women's of Troy's first goal in the 3-2 win over Rhode Island, and added an assist in the 2-1 loss at No. 5 Florida State... USC opens its home schedule Friday against Hawaii. WASHINGTON claimed its third straight Husky/Nike Invitational championship last weekend, knocking off No. 9 Penn State and No. 18 Ohio State... The Huskies, who entered their home tournament as the only unranked team in the field, emerged as the lone undefeated team... JR F Kim Taylor was named Offensive MVP of the tournament... Taylor scored the game-winner in the first overtime against Ohio State and assisted on SR F Tina Frimpong's game-winner in the 2-1 win over Penn State... UW hosts No. 8 Tennessee on Friday, before embarking on a 10-game road trip. WASHINGTON STATE JR F Alix Rustrum notched the third multiple-goal game of her career in the 2-0 win over Denver... Sophomore goalkeepers Katie Hultin and Meghan Miller split time in the 2-1 overtime loss to Montana, each recording two saves.
