Women's Basketball Named To WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Washington women's basketball has been named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 2003-2004 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, the organization announced Aug. 27. The award recognizes the nation's highest team grade point averages for the 2003-2004 season based up on nominations submitted from WBCA-member head coaches.The Huskies rank 18th on the Top 25 Team Ho nor Roll for NCAA Division I with a 3.284 grade point average. UW was the only Pac-10 squad to make the team. Eastern Washington earned top honors for Div. I with a 3.626 GPA. Drury University was the Div. II winner (3.82) and Buena Vista University was the top Div. III team (3.603).GPAs are calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned by each student athlete on an institution's squad list in the given academic terms by the total numbers of hours earned by the team.
