Women's Golf Ranked Sixth In Golf World Preseason Poll

The USC women's golf team is ranked sixth in the 2004-2005 edition of the Golf World Preseason College Coaches Poll.The Women of Troy received 263 votes in the poll. UCLA was first with 361 points, while Duke was second (359), Georgia third (317), Auburn fourth (308) and Oklahoma State fifth (289).

Golf World also put out a Top 50 'Players to Watch' list, which included USC juniors Irene Cho and Tanya Dergal.USC finished tied for 12th at last season's NCAA Championships and won the NCAA title in 2003.Besides Cho and Dergal, USC also returns senior Allison Schauppner, junior Seiko Onoue, sophomores Veronica Felibert and Catalina Marin, plus redshirt freshman Stephanie Hickerson.The Women of Troy tee off their season on Sept. 20 at the NCAA Fall Preview in Sunriver, OR.
