COLLEGE STATION, TX - The UCLA women's volleyball team opened play at the McDonald's/Texas A&M Invitational with a 3-0 win over Southern Mississippi on Friday afternoon. Game scores were 30-15, 30-22, 30-20. Brynn Murphy led the Bruins with 11 kills in the win.

Senior Brynn Murphy led the Bruins in kills with 11, and was the only Bruin with double figures in that category. Colby Lyman and Chrissie Zartman led the team with 11 digs apiece, while Lyman was also involved in three of the team's five blocks of the match.
UCLA returns to action on Saturday with two matches, a 10 am (Central Time) match-up with Samford, followed by a 7 pm match against the host school, No. 15 Texas A&M.
The Bruins were previously scheduled to play again this afternoon against Bethune-Cookman, but the Lady Wildcats were unable to leave Daytona Beach, Fla., due to travel issues related to Hurricane Frances.
