Stanford is 2-0 this season against never-before-seen opponents, winning its first-ever meeting with Utah on Aug. 27, 3-0, before defeating first-time foe Missouri, 1-0, on Sept. 10.

Fullerton Facts: Cal State Fullerton owns a 2-3 record coming into this weekend's tournament ... Fullerton rebounded from a season-opening 1-0 loss to Pepperdine with back-to-back wins over Fresno State (3-1) and San Diego (1-0) , but the Titans dropped a pair of games at the UC Irvine Tournament last week against USF and Portland State ... Kandace Wilson leads the scoring with three goals, while Kellie Cox has scored twice for the Titans ... Shayla Sabin and Nicole Williams are splitting time in the cage, with Sabin picking up six saves and a 0.86 goals-against average and Williams recording five saves and a 1.86 GAA.

Cardinal vs. Bulldogs: Stanford and Yale have faced off once before ... in that meeting, the Cardinal posted a 9-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Sept. 11, 1994, at the Hartford Courant Cup.

Yale Yeller: Yale has kicked off the 2004 campaign with a 5-0 record, the best start in school history ... the Bulldogs were rewarded with a No. 19 ranking in the NSCAA poll this week and are one of only 13 teams in the country who have yet to lose or tie a game this season ... Christina Huang leads the squad with five points on two goals and one assist ... Yale is fifth in the nation in goals-against average (0.20), while starting goalkeeper (and Alameda, Calif.-native) Sarah Walker is eighth with a 0.22 GAA.

Santa Clara Story: Santa Clara will round out the tournament field this weekend, while Stanford will do the same at the Broncos' tournament next weekend ... the two schools will play for the first time this season at 7 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 30 at Santa Clara.

Rankings Report: Stanford's back-to-back wins at Missouri and Nebraska boosted Stanford to No. 22 in the Soccer America and Soccer Buzz and No. 20 in the Soccer Times poll.

Preseason Points: After a third-place finish in the conference and an NCAA Tournament appearance last fall, the Cardinal is ready for the 2004 season ... with seven starters back from last season and the return of Marcie Ward to the line-up, conference coaches voted Stanford as their likely choice for Pac-10 runner-up this season, with the Cardinal receiving two votes for first place.

Barnhart Bullets: Senior goalie Nicole Barnhart has been named to the Soccer America and College Sports Television (CSTV) Preseason All-America teams, as well as the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List ... the two-time All-American is co-captain of the Cardinal for the second-straight season ... look for Barnhart to be featured on Stanford's weekly television program 'The Farm Report' on FSN Bay Area on Saturday, Sept. 25 ... the clip will also be available on-line at
