Softball Teams Up To Fight Cancer

Sept. 15, 2004

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's softball team will participate in the Komen Portland Race for the Cure on Saturday morning. The Race benefits the Oregon and Southwest Washington affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and supports the Komen Foundation's mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.

More than 42,000 women, men, and children participated in last year's Portland Race and helped raise more than $1.7 million for the fight against breast cancer.

Oregon State's softball program will be accepting pledge donations from now until October 19, with all proceeds benefiting the fight against cancer.
