Washington Volleyball Wins Northwest Classic

BOISE, Idaho - The third-ranked Washington volleyball team (8-0) defeatedBoise State (9-2) in three games, 30-16, 30-18, 30-18, to win the Northwest Classic title.

Washington was led by Sanja Tomasevic who had 18 kills and three blocks.Setter Courtney Thompson had 39 assists. The Huskies had 47 kills, 41assists, six aces, 42 digs and 13 blocks.

Boise State was led by Cameron Flunder's eight kills and Jackie Stroud's 10 digs. The Broncos had 30 kills, 28 assists, four aces, 43 digs, and three blocks.

Named to the Boise State Northwest Challenge All-Tournament Team were - MVP Courtney Thompson (Washington), Brie Hagerty (Washington), Christal Morrison (Washington), Sanja Tomasevic (Washington), Cameron Flunder (Boise State), and Audrey Thompson (Montana).

Washington opens the Pacific-10 season next week when it travel to LosAngeles to face No. 6 UCLA and No. 2 USC, Sept. 24-25.
