Women's Golf Finishes 14th At NCAA Fall Preview

Sunriver, Ore. - The No. 6 USC women's golf team shot its best 18 holes of golf in Wednesday's final round of the NCAA Fall Preview to finish 14th overall in the tournament played at The Meadows Golf Course.

The Women of Troy shot 294 in the third round and finished with a 54-hole total of 899, 47 over par and 41 strokes behind tourney champion Duke (858). Washington was second (864), Oklahoma State was third (866), Arizona State was fourth (868) and Auburn was fifth (869).

Junior All-American candidate Irene Cho led USC, shooting a 5-over 218 to tie for 21st. Cho's low round was a 71 in the first round.

Karin Sodjin of Oklahoma State was the individual champ with a score of 206. Louise Stahle of ASU was second at 207.

Also for the Women of Troy, sophomore Catalina Marin finished tied for 52nd (225), sophomore Veronica Felibert tied for 66th (228), junior Seiko Onoue tied for 74th (229) and freshman Jackie Desmond tied for 93rd (238).

USC is next in action at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, to be held in Sammamish, Wash., on Oct. 4-6.
