PROVO, Utah - The Washington State soccer team (5-2-1) beat the Brigham Young Cougars (3-6-1) 2-1 at South Stadium in Provo, Utah Saturday. WSU's Cailan McCutchan scored the game-winner with less than 15 minutes left in the match.
'We grinded out the win and showed a lot of character,' WSU Head Coach Matt Potter said. 'I was very pleased with our first half performance especially coming off our Utah game. Credit to BYU for possessing the ball very well, but we stuck at it and found a way to win. We withstood a lot of pressure in the last 15 minutes and created some great habits that we will carry with us in the future.'

The Cougars out-fouled BYU 14-11 and WSU defender Jennie Kunc was issued a yellow card with less than two minutes left in the game.
