Washington's Kelsey Rasmussen Named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Rasmussen has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 21-27.
Rasmussen, from Gig Harbor, Wash., recorded 10 saves in the Huskies' 2-0 victory at No. 6 Portland on Sept. 26. She rejected a point-blank shot by All-American forward Christine Sinclair that maintained Washington's 1-0 advantage. The victory marked the Huskies' first ever shutout against the Pilots and just the second win in 18 all-time meetings with Portland. Rasmussen had three saves on Sept. 24 in a 2-0 win at Portland State. She has four shutouts this season and has surrendered only four goals in eight games for a goals against average of 0.49.
The fourth-ranked Huskies (8-0-0 overall) travel to San Diego Friday for a non-conference matchup starting at 5 p.m.
This is Rasmussen's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Washington's 14th weekly honor all-time.
