Cardinal Capsule: Kirsten Hornbeak

Stanford volleyball team will be fun to watch this year because:
Our team consists of a talented group of athletes who have come together to represent something that is greater than themselves. The team is spirited and has a lot of potential.
For me to improve as a player I need to:
Continue to foster a love for the game. I believe that confidence on the court and personal improvement comes from enjoying what you are doing and the people you are doing it with. Love the team. Love the sport. Have fun.
The thing I like about sports is:
The competitive drive and the unspoken understanding within the athletic community. Sports are a great way to challenge both your mind and your body.
If I could add one team to the schedule it would be:
Hawaii. Who wouldn't want to go to a tropical island to play their favorite sport while being welcomed by community that loves that particular sport?
A friend from another college volleyball team:
Rachel Lipman who attends Brown.
Favorite midnight snack:
Lindtt milk chocolate truffles. They are sounbelivably addictive!
If I had to cook all of my meals, I'd probably survive on:
Salad and soup. What can I say, it is easy and tastes good.
Favorite T.V. show:
My parents were right when they told me:
Life is a journey, not a destination.
Favorite non-volleyball activity:
Going to theme parks and riding roller coasters. I also like hanging out with my friends, playing sports or going to the beach..
My most prized possession:
My dolphin stuffed animal, I have had it ever since I was a little kid.
If you were going on a road trip and could only take one cd, which one would you take:
A mix CD so that I could have all of my favorite songs.
The place I'd most like to visit:
Tahiti. They have the perfect tropical environment plus traditional French Baguette. Yum!
The best advice I ever received was:
To be myself and live in the moment.
