Cardinal Women In Fifth At Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Sammamish, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team carded a 308 in the first round of action at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash. The Cardinal's score puts them in fifth place, heading into tomorrow's second round. Oklahoma State leads the field with a an eight-over par 296, followed by Pepperdine (298), Oregon (300), Southern California (303) and Stanford (308).
There was a 90 minute fog delay in the morning before play began.
Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana led the Cardinal with a one-over par 73 today and is tied for second on the individual leaderboard. Teammate Kelly Husted recorded a three-over par 75 and is tied for ninth overall. Wendra Liang and Stephanie Lue both shot an 80 today and are tied for 41st. Jenna Seki is tied for 53rd with an 83. Lauren Todd, competing as an individual, turned in a 76 (+4) and is tied for 15th.
Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin fired a two-under par 70 to lead all individuals. She is followed by Pepperdine's Eileen Vargas, Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana and Oregon's Johnna Nealy who are all tied for second with a one-over 73. Four players are tied for fifth just one stroke back.
Second round action continues tomorrow at the Sahalee Country Club.
