Pedroia To Make Public Speaking Appearance In Scottsdale

TEMPE, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Former Arizona State All-American shortstop Dustin Pedroia will be a guest speaker today (Thursday, Oct. 7) at Lights On After School sponsored by the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.

Pedroia, a top prospect with the Boston Red Sox who is currently playing with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League, will speak to over 400 students about the importance of being involved in after school programs.

Lights On After School is a nation wide event to make students aware of the after school programs available in their communities. The event will be held today at 7380 E. Second Street at the Center for the Arts from 3:30-5:15 p.m. Pedroia will be speaking at 4:00 p.m.
