Stanford Drops Out of Main Draw at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Senior Erin Burdette (Jackson, Ga./Monroe Academy) and sophomore Theresa Logar (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) were both knocked out of the main draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships today at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Burdette lost a 6-4, 6-2 match to No. 1 Cristelle Grier of Northwestern, while Logar dropped a 6-3, 6-2 match to TCU's Story Tweedie-Yates.
Junior Alice Barnes (Cambridge, U.K.) fell into the consolation bracket after dropping her first round match in the main draw. She had a bye in the first round then defeated Pepperdine's Natalie Braverman 6-4, 6-4, in the second round. She will face Jennifer Magley of Florida in the semifinals of the consolation bracket.
Stanford will continue when the Cardinal hosts the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Women's Regional Championships on Oct. 22-25 at the Taube Tennis Center. The singles finalists and doubles champion from this event will earn spots in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., on November 4-7.
