Corvallis, Ore. - No. 3 California rebounded from its upset loss to No. 14 Washington on Friday, defeating Oregon State, 2-0 at Reser Stadium. The Golden Bear's record improves to 8-1-2, 1-1-1 Pac-10 while Oregon State drops to 5-7-1, 0-3-0 Pac-10.
Carr sealed the win at 71:49, when he tallied his second goal of the season, courtesy of an assist from senior defender Troy Roberts.
Junior keeper Eric Kronberg recorded six saves to earn his sixth shutout of the season.
The match was a physical affair, with the two teams combining for 39 fouls, Cal with nine and Oregon State with 30. 10 cards were issued, one yellow and one red to California, while Oregon State received five yellow cards and three reds.
The Bears return to Berkeley for the first time in one month to take on the Bruins of UCLA, Friday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m.
