Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Third At Pepperdine Tournament

The Arizona State men's golf team finished tied with SMU for third at the 12-team Club Glove Intercollegiate held at Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Calif., Monday and Tuesday.
The Sun Devils finished behind host and champion Pepperdine, as ASU shot a 12-over 876 (293-283-300) while Pepperdine closed at even 864 (289-284-291) to win the title for the second straight year.
Coastal Carolina finished second at 7-over 871.
Colt Knost of SMU won the individual title with a 4-under 212 (75-69-68).Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares, the 2003 NCAA champion, finished at even 216 and tied for seventh (75-65-76), while senior Jesse Mueller, the 2001 Arizona Amateur champion, shot a 71 in the final round to finish tied for 13th at 2-over 218 (74-73-71).
Senior Pat Moore finished 18th at 3-over 219 (71-71-77) and sophomore Niklas Lemke finished tied for 29th at 7-over 223.Kendall Critchfield, playing as an individual, tied for 41st at 11-over 227 (77-71-79), while Phil Telliard withdrew after two rounds at 16-over 160 (78-82).
ASU's 283 in the second round tied for the best round of the tournament.
ASU will complete its fall schedule Oct. 25-26 at the Bandon Dunes Invitational in Oregon.
