USC RUNS WINNING STREAK TO FIVE
ARIZONA (2-0-0, 11-2-0) is coming off two wins over WASHINGTON (0-1-1, 9-2-1) and WASHINGTON STATE (0-2-0, 5-5-2)...The Arizona schools will head to the Bay Area this weekend to take on CALIFORNIA (0-0-1, 7-2-2) and the STANFORD Cardinal (0-0-1, 8-2-2)...ARIZONA STATE (1-0-1, 5-6-1) is coming off a double overtime win over Washington State...UCLA (2-0-0, 9-3-0) and USC (2-0-0, 8-3-1) head Northwest to face WASHINGTON (0-1-1, 9-2-1) and WASHINGTON STATE (0-2-0, 5-5-2), while OREGON (0-2-0, 3-8-1) hosts in-state rival OREGON STATE (0-2-0, 6-7-0) for the ninth Civil War... Both teams are looking for their first conference win this season...Pac-10 teams posted a .651 winning percentage (64-33-6) against non-conference competition this season.
Five Pac-10 teams are ranked among Soccer America's Top-25 this week: UCLA climbs one spot to No. 6, Washington moves down three spots to No. 7, Stanford remains at No. 10, California moves to No. 14 and Arizona breaks into the rankings for the first time in history at No. 24.

PAC-10 WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTESARIZONA opened the Pac-10 season with two wins over Washington State and No. 4 Washington on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, respectively...The win over the Huskies marked the first time in the program's history that Arizona has opened the Pac-10 season with a 2-0 record...With the Wildcat's sixth win at home, Arizona has passed the previous record for most home victories in the program's history. ARIZONA STATE tied No. 4 Washington on Oct. 8, tallying three goals in the contest...SO GK Kim Bingham made eight saves in the game, giving her a total of 35 on the season...JR F Elizabeth Bogus scored her 10th career game-winning goal with 20 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give the Sun Devils the win over Washington State, 2-1. The Bears saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end against No. 16 Santa Clara on Oct. 6 with a 3-1 loss...FR F Stephanie Wieger scored the lone goal for CALIFORNIA, the fifth of her freshman campaign...JR GK Ashley Sulprizio scored a goal and secured seven saves in the 1-1 double overtime tie to No. 10 Stanford. JR GK Domenique Lainez posted four saves on Oct. 10 despite the loss against USC...Lainez leads the conference with 61 saves on the season heading into this weekend...OREGON will host the Beavers for the ninth Civil War on Oct. 15...The Ducks defeated the Beavers last year in an overtime thriller, 4-3 in Corvallis. OREGON STATE will look to get it's first Pac-10 win when it travels to Eugene to face in-state rival, Oregon on Friday...The Beavers dropped two games to UCLA and USC last weekend...SO GK Melissa Onstad recorded seven saves despite losing to Pac-10 foe, USC ...FR F Jodie Taylor has 11 goals in 12 games, already moving her into a tie for fourth place on OSU's all-time list of single-season leaders...Taylor leads the conference in points and shots with 23 and 11, respectively. UCLA secured two conference wins over Oregon and Oregon State on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, respectively...With the OSU win, head coach Jillian Ellis earned her 100th victory at UCLA, giving her a 100-21-5 record in just over five seasons...SR DF Kendal Billingsley recorded the first hat trick of her career in the win over Oregon on Oct. 10...The hat trick marks the 16th in the 12-year history of the program and the second this season. The Women of Troy extended their winning streak to five games after the victory over Oregon State...This marks the program's longest winning streak since the 2000 season...USC FR GK Veronica Simonton recorded four saves in the win over the Beavers, recording her second straight shutout and third of the season...JR F Tina Sutorius registered her career-high fourth goal of the season in the Pac-10 opener with a win over Oregon, 2-0. WASHINGTON rallied for a 3-3 stand-off at Arizona State on Oct. 8...SR F Tina Frimpong tied the school career scoring record with two goals Friday, including a 73rd-minute strike that secured the 3-3 tie...Frimpong is tied for the all-time Washington scoring lead with current assistant coach Tami Bennett who amassed 34 goals between 1997-2000...The Huskies ended the road trip to the desert with a 3-1 loss at Arizona...Last weekend's play concluded the longest stretch of road games in Washington history...The Huskies, who host USC on Friday, had 41 days between home games. WASHINGTON STATE SO F Alix Rustrum scored the first goal of the match at the 41:20 mark but Arizona came back to defeat Washington State, 3-1 in its first Pac-10 loss...Rustrum tied the match with her sixth goal of the season against Arizona State on Oct. 10 to put it into overtime where the Sun Devils went on to capture the victory, 2-1.
