Washington Volleyball Remains Undefeated

TUCSON, Ariz.-- The No. 1-ranked Washington volleyball team defeated No. 22 Arizona, 3-1, this evening to improve to 15-0 overall and 7-0 in the Pac-10. The Wildcats dip to 11-7 overall and 3-5 in the Pac-10. Game scores were 30-28, 30-22, 26-30, 30-24.

The Wildcats held the advantage in kills (73-66), digs (73-64) and blocks (10-6) but Washington outhit Arizona .274 to .242 and tallied nine aces to remain undefeated.

Washington was led by freshman Christal Morrison with 20 kills and 12 digs, while Kaitlin Leck collected 18 kills and Brie Hagerty added 12. Courtney Thompson dished 55 assists on the night, while picking up 10 digs.

Candace Lee anchored the Huskies' defense with 24 digs, while Darla Myhre logged five blocks for the UW. Danka Danicic recorded three aces for Washington and had seven digs.

The Huskies return to action next week when they host California and Stanford on Oct. 22 and 23. Game times are slated for 7 p.m.
