Mike Enfield Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior midfielder Mike Enfield (Ventura, CA/Ventura HS) of the UCLA Men's Soccer Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 11-17.
Enfield had a three-goal, one-assist performance in a Bay Area weekend sweep, as the Bruins upset 13th-ranked California, 3-0, and 10th-ranked Stanford, 2-0. In the win over Cal, Enfield scored two goals, including the game-winner, and assisted on the other. His first goal was a header in the 48th minute, and his second came after being taken down in the penalty box by the Cal keeper. Although Enfield's penalty shot was blocked, he followed through on his attempt and fired the rebound shot back into the net. Against Stanford, Enfield scored a critical insurance goal in the 71st minute, helping the Bruins increase their shutout streak against the Cardinal to seven games.
Enfield, who now leads the Pac-10 in scoring with eight goals and 17 points, was selected the College Soccer News National Player of the Week and was also named to its Team of the Week.
This is Enfield's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.Also nominated: Ashley Caldwell, W. Cross Country; Amie Cochran, W. Golf; Bristyn Davis, W.
