Cougars Lose Two Men's Basketball Players to Injuries

Oct. 19, 2004

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State men's basketball freshmen Derrick Low and Chris Henry will both miss significant playing time after suffering injuries during the past week.

Low, a point guard from Iolani School in Honolulu, fractured his right foot in practice Sunday. He will miss a minimum of six weeks.

'This is a blow to us because this guy is a player,' WSU Head Coach Dick Bennett said. 'We were expecting him to run the show from day one. We will perhaps have to fill his loss with a little more of a team approach to handling the ball.'

Henry, a center from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif., suffered multiple ligament damage to his right ankle in a pick up game last Tuesday.

'The loss of Chris is significant because he is our biggest player,' Bennett said. 'We expect to get him back by conference play.'
