Cardinal Men Host Nelson Invitational This Weekend

The Stanford men's golf team prepares to host The Nelson Invitational, October 22-24, at the Stanford Golf Course (par 69/6,444 yards). Sixteen teams will compete over the course of three days. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. each day.

Squads comprised of five individuals will play 18 holes each day for three days (54 hole total) with the four low scores counting towards the team score.

Joining Stanford on the links will be Colorado, Colorado State, Texas Pan-Am, UNLV, Idaho, Florida Southern, Notre Dame, Kansas, Northern Colorado, West Florida, Georgia State, Kansas State, UC Davis, New Mexico and Missouri.

Last year Duke won the team title (278-281-275--834) while Blue Devil Ryan Blaum (66-69-66--201) won top medalist honors.

This is the ninth year of The Nelson Invitational sponsored by Clarke Nelson, a 1954 graduate of Stanford.
