Bruin Women's Volleyball Sweeps Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. - The 12th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team improved to 12-5 (5-3 Pac-10) on Thursday night with a 30-16, 30-18, 30-18 victory over the Oregon Ducks (9-9, 1-7 Pac-10). Nana Meriwether and Brynn Murphy each had a team-high 13 kills as the Bruins helped Andy Banachowski to his 975th career victory.
UCLA hit .285 as a team for the match, while the Ducks hit -.007 as a team. UCLA out-blocked Oregon by a 10-5 margin, out-dug the Ducks 78-59.
Individually, sophomore Nana Meriwether hit .522 with just one error for the evening to go with 13 kills and 23 swings. She also had four blocks, two solo and two assists. Senior Brynn Murphy recorded 13 kills to go along with her match-high five block assists. Defensively, Chrissie Zartman led all players with 24 digs.
UCLA returns to action on Friday night at Oregon State.
