LOS ANGELES - Freshman forward Stephanie Wieger scored a golden goal in the second overtime period to lift No. 15 California to a 1-0 victory over No. 6 UCLA Sunday afternoon at Drake Stadium. The Golden Bears improved to 9-4-2 overall (2-2-1 Pac-10) after snapping a five-game losing streak to the defending Pac-10 champion Bruins. UCLA dropped to 11-5 (4-2).

Wieger, who came off the bench, posted the game's only goal in the 105th minute with a seven-yard unassisted shot from the right side. Wieger also tallied the game-winning goal last Sunday in Cal's 1-0 triumph over No. 24 Arizona.

Cal outshot UCLA, 13-8, with junior forwards Liz Eisenberg and Dania Cabello each firing three shots for the Bears. Danesha Adams led the Bruins with four shots.

Junior goalkeeper Ashley Sulprizio recorded five saves in Cal's ninth shutout of the season. UCLA goalkeeper Valerie Henderson tallied three saves.

This week, Cal returns home to Edward Stadium for its final two regular season home games. The Bears face Oregon State Friday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. and then Oregon Sunday, Oct. 31 at noon.
