Washington Softball Announces Fall/Winter Clinic Series
Oct. 26, 2004
SEATTLE-- The Washington softball team will put on three clinics over the next few months, it was announced today by head coach Heather Tarr. The Huskies open the camp season with an All Skills Clinic in November. Washington will conduct two more camps in January, including a Coaches Clinic and an All Skills Clinic.
'The coaches and players are equally excited to continue to develop relationships with local players of all ages and local coaches at all levels,' said Tarr. 'Being a former Husky camper, I understand what an impact attending Husky Softball Camps can have in your life. There are several current Huskies that attended camps while growing up in the northwest. We plan on conducting several more camps throughout the season, in addition, look to the Huskies to provide several exciting summer camps, including a unique Elite Camp. The Elite camp will draw from some of the nation's best softball talent--in addition to having several top-25 college coaches teaching and coaching the camp'
Washington's first All Skills Camp begins November 7 and will cover all softball skills, including hitting and pitching. The camp will run from noon to 4 p.m., and will cost $50.
The Huskies will hold a Coaches Clinic on January 8 from 9-5 p.m. Topics will include pitching, catching, defense, throwing, base running, hitting, and strategies to plan practice and manage games. The cost is $125.
Washington will conclude its fall/winter camp series on January 9 with its final All Skills Camp. The camp will cover all softball skills, including hitting and pitching and will run from 9-noon.
