RESTED HUSKIES HEAD TO BAY AREA
Coming off a bye week, the WASHINGTON Huskies (10-3-2 overall, 3-0-1 Pac-10) will attempt to make up Pac-10 ground on UCLA this week... The Bruins have one non-conference match on the docket this week... The Huskies, unbeaten in their last five outings, have not lost a Conference game since Nov. 7, 2003 (at UCLA)... The Bruins (9-2-2, 5-1-0) have strung together four consecutive wins, and stay close to home this week with a Saturday night game at UC Irvine... UCLA has outscored its last four opponents 11-4... CALIFORNIA, which held a 3-1 lead over UCLA until the final 12 minutes of last week's game, hosts OREGON STATE (5-8-1, 0-4-0-) and Washingon... The Golden Bears look to avenge a 3-0 loss at Washington on Oct. 8... The Beavers, who won seven Pac-10 games a year ago, look to notch their first Pac-10 'W' on the season... Each team played 10 Conference games (6 teams) in 2003, while the 2004 regular season includes eight Pac-10 games (4 teams).

UCLA FORWARD CHAD BARRETTNAMED PAC-10 MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
UCLA sophomore forward Chad Barrett has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 19-25.
Barrett, from Beaverton, Ore., had two goals and one assist in UCLA's home sweep of the Bay Area schools. Against No. 17/NR Stanford on Oct. 22, Barrett assisted on the equalizing goal at 56:34 and then scored the game-winning goal at 87:16 to increase the Bruins' winning streak against the Cardinal to seven games. Barrett scored his third goal of the season in the 11th minute against No. 18/25 California on Oct. 24. Barrett's goal gave UCLA a 1-0 lead, but the Bruins then fell behind 3-1 before scoring three goals in the final 12 minutes of the game to win 4-3 in overtime.
UCLA (5-1-0, 9-2-2) has won four straight games, outscoring its opponents 11-4.
The Bruins travel to UC Irvine for a non-conference match this weekend.
This is the first weekly honor for Barrett, and the 20th all-time player of the week honor for the Bruins.

PAC-10 MEN'S SOCCER NOTES...
In CALIFORNIA's 3-0 win over UC Davis, JR MF Nick Hatzke, SR F Carl Acosta and FR F Javier Hill all scored goals for the Bears... Hatzke is tied for third in the Pac-10 in points (14) and leads the Bears with five goals on the year... The shutout against the Aggies was Cal's eighth on the season, second-most in the league Coming off a bye week, OREGON STATE plays at California and Stanford this week... The Beaver offense has produced a Pac-10 high 26 goals this season (1.85 avg.)... FR GK Jason Mariner ranks second in the league in saves (46) and has four seven-save performances on the year. STANFORD put an end to its seven-game scoreless streak against UCLA, falling 2-1 to the Bruins in Los Angeles... SR GK Robby Fulton is averaging a Conference-best 4.75 saves in Pac-10 games... The Cardinal host Washington and Oregon State this week and are the lone Conference team to have scored against the Huskies this season. UCLA has won four in a row, outscoring its opponents 11-4 during that span... The Bruins trailed Cal 3-1 before scoring three goals in the final 12 minutes to win 4-3 in overtime... SO F Chad Barrett, the Pac-10 assists co-leader (5), scored two goals and added an assist on the weekend. WASHINGTON looks to extend its five-game unbeaten streak when it travels to Stanford and California this week... The Huskies, unbeaten in Pac-10 play this season, were idle last week... UW has allowed just two goals through four Conference matches and has posted a league-leading three shutouts in Pac-10 play.
