Lepp Shoots 70 to Boost Canada at World Amateur

Rio Grande, Puerto Rico - Washington junior James Lepp shot 2-under 70 during the second round of play at the World Amateur Team Championships in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Lepp's score moved him up to 26th place and improved Canada's standing to 12th in the 66-team event. His 36-hole total is 1-under 143. Lepp shot 73 during the first round and was in 52nd place entering Friday's play. Lepp is a native of Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Puyallup native Ryan Moore shot a 5-under 67 to stay atop the individual leaderboard at 12-under 132. Moore owns a four-stroke lead over Switzerland's Nicolas Sulzer. At the midway point the United States has an eight-stroke lead over Spain with a 36-hole score of 268. Canada is 18 strokes behind the U.S. at 286.
