Men Finish Off Texas; Women Fall To Longhorns

USC's men's swimming and diving team defeated host Texas, 240.50-112.50, though the Trojan women fell to the Longhorns, 230-123, as the teams completed the second day of the two-day dual-meet in Austin on Saturday (Oct. 30).
After winning seven of eight events on Friday, the USC men swept the 10 events on Saturday.
Junior Ous Mellouli and Viktor Bodrogi were both double winners. Mellouli won the 200y free (1:37.93) and the 200y IM (1:52.41). Bodrogi won the 100y back (49.55) and the 200y fly (1:47.63). Bodrogi went 1-2 with sophomore Sam Masson (49.77) in the 100y back while Mellouli went 1-2 with senior co-captain Paul Fahey (1:52.92) in the 200y IM.
Sophomore Michael Hilde won his second diving event by taking the 1-meter springboard (316.30) while sophomore Larsen Jensen won his second distance event, taking the 1650y free (15:40.71). Jensen's win led a 1-2-3 sweep as senior Tyler Storie was second (15:47.55) while freshman William Antisdale was third (15:59.98).
First-year Trojan Richard Gosper won the 50y free (20.63) with sophomore Sean Sussex touching just behind in second (20.67). Mihaly Flaskay won his second breaststroke event by taking the 100y (55.41). The USC men also won both the 200y medley and 400y free relays.
Kalyn Keller won the 1650y free against Texas (17:00.14) and USC also won the 400 free relay.
