WSU Hosts Arkansas

THIS WEEK: The Washington State University women's swim team will host the Univesity of Arkansas Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at Gibb Pool...Arkansas is 2-3 in the 2004-05 season after defeating the University of New Orleans and Drury...this is the first meeting between the schools.
COACH QUAM: Erica Quam is in her third season as the WSU head women's swimming coach.
LAST TIME OUT: At the Pacific Invite WSU finished the two-day meet in second place with 820 points...Kayli Changstrom, McKenzie Reiter and Erin McCleave finished one-two-three in individual scoring among Division I swimmers...event winners included Bryn Mooney in the 100 butterfly, Jane Copland in the 200 breaststroke and McCleave in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
LAST SEASON: Five swimmers placed on the Cougar all-time top 10 list at the Pacific-10 Championships...top finishers included Lindsay Backhouse in the 100 and 200 backstroke, Jane Copland and Monika Povilonyte in the breaststroke events...Erin McCleave recorded a school record in the 200 freestyle.
ACADEMICS: WSU finished first in the nation academically spring semester 2004 with a 3.66 grade point average...Cougars finished fourth in the fall of 2003 with a GPA of 3.489.
UP NEXT: The Cougars will begin 2004-05 Pacific-10 competition Nov. 19 at Gibb Pool with a dual meet against the Washington Huskies...the Cougars will then travel to the Princeton Invitational in Princeton N.J., and the Jingle Bell Invite in Moscow, Idaho.
