Allison Lawrence Leads Volleyball Past ASU, 3-1

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior outside hitter Allison Lawrence amassed 22 kills and 21 digs to lead Oregon State University past Arizona State University, 30-27, 30-27, 28-30, 30-26, in Thursday night's Pacific-10 Conference volleyball action.
The Beavers avenged an early-season three-game loss to the Sun Devils to improve to 10-11 overall and 4-8 in Pac-10 play. Arizona State lost its season-high fifth straight match to fall to 8-13 overall and 3-9 in league play.
The double-double was the 16th of the season for Lawrence, who moved into sole possession of sixth place in the Oregon State record book with 1,175 career kills. Freshman libero Nina Baltimore added a career-high 28 digs. Amanda Eggert (13), Abby Windell (13) and Kristin Murray (10) also recorded double-digits in kills for the Beavers.
ASU junior outside hitter Sarah Watkins led the Sun Devils with 20 killsand 13 digs.
Oregon State edged the Sun Devils in nearly every statistical category, including hitting percentage (.250-.242), digs (92-89), kills (77-76), assists (71-70) and blocks (9.0-8.0).
OSU, winners of two straight, returns to action on Friday when the Beavers face No. 22 ranked University of Arizona. First serve is set for 6 p.m. PST.
