Trojan Golf Signs Prep Standout Thomas Glissmeyer

Nov. 11, 2004

Two-time Colorado state high school golf champion Thomas Glissmeyer has signed a letter of intent with USC, Director of Golf Kurt Schuette announced today.

'I feel that Thomas is one of the best student-athletes I've recruited in my 16 years as a head coach,' said Schuette. 'We feel like he'll be a tremendous asset to the team and to the program in the future. We're thrilled to welcome him into the Trojan golf family.'

Glissmeyer won the Colorado 4-A high school boys golf title in both 2003 and 2004 while prepping at Cheyenne Mountain High in Colorado Springs, Colo. He led his school to its first-ever state team title in 2004. He qualified for the 2003 U.S. Open at the age of 16 and qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2003 and 2004 (advancing to match play each time). He also made it to match play at the 2004 U.S. Junior Championship. He is ranked the top player in Colorado and is an American Junior Golf Association All-American.

Besides his athletic achievements, he is ranked first in his class at Cheyenne Mountain with a weighted 4.5 grade point average.
