Men's Hoops Wins Exhibition Opener 93-47

Arizona State jumped out to a 42-26 halftime lead and cruised to a 93-47 win over Alberta-Edmonton in the men's basketball exhibition opener Thursday.

Ike Diogu led the way with 26 points and seven boards, while senior Steve Moore added 12 points and six boards.

ASU shot 63.6 percent in the second half (21-of-33) and outrebounded UA-Edmonton 41-25.

ASU played 14 players, with 12 of those playing in the first half. Ten players posted double digits in minutes.

ASU started returners Ike Diogu, Serge Angounou (19 minutes, nine points and four assists), Jason Braxton (20 minutes), Steve Moore and newcomer Bryson Krueger (five points in 13 minutes).

ASU's next exhibition game is Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. against EA Sports All-Stars. It opens its regular season on Nov. 21 against Jackson State at 2 p.m.
